From the heights of Le Conquil, let your gaze follow the winding course of the Vézère river and admire the beauty of the lush landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. The Vézère valley, often called the Valley of Man, is a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its richness in prehistoric sites and its remarkable scenery. Le Conquil offers a privileged viewpoint over this valley, allowing you to fully appreciate its scale and beauty. In the distance, you may spot other troglodyte sites, medieval castles perched on hills and picturesque villages nestled in nature. The valley is also home to diverse wildlife and plant life, including rare species such as the peregrine falcon and the European otter.

To bring the site’s history to life, Le Conquil features a scenographic route where the troglodyte dwellings are enhanced by sound and light effects. Subtle lighting and evocative soundscapes allow visitors to feel the atmosphere of these places that have been inhabited for centuries. Each space tells a story, from the daily life of the inhabitants to the challenges they faced and the mysteries of the caves and shelters.

A fully immersive experience with historical reconstructions
To enrich the visit, the site presents detailed reconstructions of daily life. Furniture, everyday objects and life like figures recreate scenes from the past and transport visitors through time. These installations help to better understand how people lived in these natural cavities and adapted to their environment.

A prestigious and private experience in the troglodyte cliffs
Alongside the owners, embark on a journey through time in the heart of the troglodyte cliffs of Le Conquil, a remarkable site rich in history and mystery. From Prehistory to the Middle Ages, these cliffs have witnessed the evolution of human life, offering a unique opportunity to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors. Extend this sensory journey with a gourmet aperitif made exclusively from carefully selected local products. Each bite tells a story, blending tradition and terroir in a spectacular natural setting.

This experience is open to all including couples, friends and groups. A special option can also be arranged in partnership with Nick Honeyman for an exceptional gastronomic moment.

Practical information
The experience lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes and is available for groups of 10 to 25 people. In July and August, it takes place from 13 July to 17 August on Mondays from 7 pm. Exceptional bookings can be arranged outside this period for groups, with reservations required 15 days in advance for packages 1 and 2, and one month in advance for the chef experience. Booking is essential and places are limited.

Enjoy a family friendly experience with captivating stories told in a soft summer evening atmosphere on 21 and 28 July and 4 and 11 August at 8.30 pm.

Murder Party evenings
Become a detective on 6 and 13 August. Take part in an immersive experience where you must solve a crime within a limited time by meeting characters, questioning them and piecing together clues to uncover the truth.

    Le Conquil is open every day. Until 9 March 2025 from 1 pm to 6 pm. From 30 March 2025 to 6 July 2025 from 10 am to 6.30 pm. From 7 July 2025 to 31 August 2025 from 10 am to 7.30 pm. From 1 September 2025 to 3 November 2025 from 11 am to 6 pm.

  • What are the admission prices ?

    For self guided or guided visits the rates are as follows. Adult 8.90 €. Student 7 €. Child from 5 to 12 years 5 €. For additional activities, please consult the official ticket office.

  • Are guided tours available ?

    Yes, guided tours are available by reservation.

  • Is the site accessible to visitors with reduced mobility ?

    No, the site is not accessible to visitors with reduced mobility.

  • Are there activities for children ?

    Yes, the site offers a play area for children as well as access to the nearby dinosaur park. Children can also enjoy an adventure course with zip lines and suspension bridges in a natural setting while discovering local wildlife.
