A breathtaking discovery

In August 2000, in the heart of the Mestreguiral quarry, a dark fissure caught the attention of Angel Caballero. What began as a simple exploration quickly became one of the most remarkable geological discoveries in the Périgord. Two years later, after extensive clearing work, Grotte de Maxange opened to the public, revealing an underground network adorned with rare and spectacular eccentric formations.
