Festival des Jeux de Théâtre in Sarlat

Since 1952, this festival has brought life to the

old stones of the medieval city. It is the second

oldest festival of its kind in France, after that of

Avignon; but also the largest in the Aquitaine and

one of the most renowned in all of France. Nearly

all the performances - including classical and

contemporary works - take place outdoors.

Festival de musique du Périgord Noir in Montignac

Recognised as being the great classical music

festival of the Aquitaine region; every year more

than twenty classical concerts are held in unique

architectural and natural settings around the area.

L’Eté Musical in Bergerac

This eclectic selection of artists creates a sensation

each year in the prestigious sites of the Bergerac

area: from Monpazier to the Biron castle; from

Saint-Germain to Gaugeac; from the Abbaye de

Cadouin to the Grange de Lanquais; and of course

in Bergerac, on the Vieux-Port at the Cloître des

Récollets and in the Notre-Dame church.

MIMOS, International Festival of Mime and

Gesture Arts in Périgueux

This is the largest festival of its kind in Europe,

and the only of its kind in France. With vivid

contrast and artistic variety, the performances are

held both indoors and out; by day and night; for

an admission charge or for free.
